Licensing and enforcement

Make decisions that stand.

From the first page of an application to the decision notice on a breach, every step is on the record. Findings are checked twice, the same breach gets the same answer, and the file is ready if anyone appeals.

The problem

Every decision gets tested: on appeal, in an audit, in the press.

Applications move between paper, email and spreadsheets. Who owns an applicant is hard to trace. Two officers give the same breach two different penalties. And when a decision is challenged, the reasons are spread across inboxes.

A decision is only as strong as the record behind it.

How it works

From the application to the decision, on one record.

  1. 01ApplyOnline or on paper. Scanned pages are sorted into their documents, and fees follow from the answers.
  2. 02CheckThe application follows the steps your office set. Owners are traced to the people behind them, and screened.
  3. 03LicenseA full or provisional licence, a certificate anyone can check by QR code, and renewals that come round on time.
  4. 04EnforceBreaches become cases, cases end in a violation from the library, and demerits feed each licensee's risk.

FAQ

About licensing and enforcement.

Can we change an application type ourselves?

Yes. Your office edits the questions, fees, steps and outcomes, and each change becomes a new version.

Can applicants still apply on paper?

Yes. Staff start a draft, scan the pages in, from a scanner or a phone, and each page is sorted into its document.

How do you keep penalties consistent?

Every breach is in the violation library with its demerits, penalty and legal basis. Cases suggest the violation that fits, and any change to the library is a new version with its reason.

Can the public check that a licence is real?

Yes. Anyone can scan the QR code on a certificate and see whether the licence is genuine and current.
